About Elaine Mayson, author of the’Isabella and the Pink House’ series

Hi, my name is Elaine Mayson and I am an author of children’s books. I started writing stories at school and have continued to this day!

However, I had always wanted to dance, and I trained as a classical ballerina. My first job was in Belgium with Ballet de Wallonie and then I became a soloist classical ballerina with English National Ballet and Northern Ballet dancing on stages all over the world. The theatre is a magical place and I immersed myself dancing fairies, slyphs, sprites and even an odd dormouse!

I retrained as a professional photographer and have photographed many children & students in dance schools as well as the large dance companies in the UK and Internationally. I am the photographer for ‘Mark Morris Dance Company’ based in New York and the flamenco Spanish company ‘Paco Pena’ as well as many more!

I have taken my experiences as a dancer and photographer to create magical adventure stories for you. I have published three books. The first chapter book is for ages 5-8 years and is part of the ‘Isabella and the Pink House’ series.
